This, despite the fact that Sheldon says on the Tumblr blog that hosts the texts that Bennett exists and the exchanges are “100% real.” TSG spoke with Sheldon’s dad, who said there was no Bennett, and the texts were made up by his son with the help of malapropisms borrowed from a friend. When confronted with this, Sheldon stuck to his guns, insisting Bennett was real, but that “Bennett” was not his legal name. “You try to ruin the fun for everyone,” Sheldon told the TSG reporter behind the detective work. “We’re trying to protect the storyline.” So Bennett is probably fake.
